Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • a pinch of salt

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ cup smooth peanut butter

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup

  • ¼ cup light brown sugar, packed

  • ½ cup hot fudge flavored topping

  • 6 reese’s peanut butter cups, chopped

Preparation

  1. Pour 1 cup of the heavy cream into a small saucepan and add in the sugar and salt. Heat over medium heat until sugar is dissolved, about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and pour mixture into a medium bowl. Add the remaining 1 cup of heavy cream, whole milk, and vanilla.

  2. Place ice cream mixture in the refrigerator to chill. While it is chilling, prepare the peanut butter sauce, heat up the hot fudge to thin it, and chop the peanut butter cups into small pieces.

  3. For the peanut butter sauce, combine the peanut butter, ½ cup heavy cream, light corn syrup, and brown sugar in a small saucepan. Mix together over low heat until all ingredients create a smooth sauce, about 3 or 4 minutes. Remove from heat to cool.

  4. Freeze the ice cream mixture according to the ice cream maker’s instructions. When removing the ice cream from the machine, fold in the peanut butter sauce, fudge, and peanut butter cup chunks until the peanut butter sauce and fudge are swirled into the ice cream.

  5. Store in the freezer and allow to chill to reach hard serve consistency.
